FormMy.LLC answers three questions about a business name in one search: is it registered with a state, is there a matching federal trademark, and is the domain free.
The entity search covers all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, querying state records directly where we can and through a records provider where we cannot.
The federal trademark check runs against the USPTO’s own Trademark Case Files dataset, held on our server, so nothing about your search leaves it. It shows live registrations that exactly match a name and the categories they cover, since a mark in an unrelated category is a very different thing from a name being unavailable. It reports what is on file rather than whether a name conflicts, which depends on your goods and services.
The domain check covers ten common extensions and returns current registration prices.
The site is run by TrueScope LLC that also operates LLCForge.com. Both exist for the same reason: state business registries are slow, awkward, and built for clerks rather than founders. We made better front doors.
When a name looks clear, the filing button moves you into formation with a filing service. When it is taken, you can refine and search again as often as you like, free.
