These terms govern your use of FormMy.LLC. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the site.
The service
FormMy.LLC is a free tool that searches business-name availability against state Secretary of State records. We display the same data those records would show you if you searched them directly, in a faster interface. We do not file paperwork, store entity data permanently, or maintain a record of names you’ve searched for purposes beyond internal analytics.
Accuracy
We pull search results live from state records at the moment you search. State databases occasionally lag, return incomplete results, or temporarily fail. Even when a name appears available in our results, state distinguishability rules vary, and the state SOS may reject or accept a filing for reasons our search can’t detect.
Use our results as a strong indication, not a guarantee. Always confirm name availability with the relevant Secretary of State before relying on it for legal or financial decisions. We are not responsible for filings rejected based on our search results.
Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site, specifically the “Start filing” buttons that lead to Northwest Registered Agent, are affiliate links. If you click through and complete a paid service with Northwest, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. We only recommend partners we use ourselves. This does not affect the search results we show you.
What we don’t provide
We don’t provide legal, tax, accounting, or any other professional advice. The information on this site is not a substitute for an attorney, CPA, or registered agent. If your situation needs professional judgment, consult a professional.
Acceptable use
You may use FormMy.LLC for personal or business research into name availability. You may not:
- Scrape, crawl, or automate access to our site in ways that disrupt service for other users
- Resell, redistribute, or republish our search results as a competing service
- Use the site to circumvent Secretary of State rate limits, fees, or filing requirements
We may rate-limit, block, or terminate access for users who violate these terms.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrueScope LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied. In no event will TrueScope LLC be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or filing rejections.
If a court finds we are liable despite the above, our total liability for any claim is limited to one hundred US dollars.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Missouri.
Changes
We may update these terms. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the new terms.
